Fairmont Pacific Rim

The Fairmont Pacific Rim contains Vancouver’s busiest hotel lobby, as well as a popular after-work lounge. A big staircase leads directly ahead, right beyond the museum-like glass exhibit case displaying beaded vintage fashion, to The Botanist, the second-floor restaurant. The entire lobby level, from the white stone flooring and pillars to the planter boxes that (barely) separate the lounge and the entryway, exudes subtle elegance.
The 367-room hotel is part of the Fairmont Hotels & Resorts company, which in Vancouver also contains the historic Hotel Vancouver. Other Fairmont-managed hotels include the Plaza in New York City and the Savoy in London.
From the beautiful handcrafted millwork and Stearns & Fosters beds to the Mascioni robes and towels and marble soaking tubs with separate showers, this is a complete luxury experience. Although all of the views are pleasant, the northern vista, which includes the live roof of the magnificent Vancouver Convention Centre across the street, as well as the Burrard Inlet and North Shore Mountains, seems almost surreal.
The Botanist is one of Vancouver’s greatest restaurants, while the Lobby Lounge and RawBar are excellent drinking establishments. Giovane, an Italian bakery and café, serves pasta, pizza, paninis, and sweets.
